Rector | Horringer Benefice

We are seeking a Rector for our attractive rural West Suffolk benefice of six villages located close to the cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds. Our hope is for a priest who will lead the church in becoming more accessible, encouraging growth and outreach, and who will be a visible presence inour communities. We need a leader who is a good communicator and a challenging preacher, who will be enthusiastic in leading a variety of worship styles in our churches, and who will develop and support a
team to advance our pastoral ministry and our work with young people and children.

We have six well-maintained churches in the villages of Horringer, Westley, Whepstead, Brockley, Hawstead and Nowton, with supportive congregations – a Reader, a Communities & Families Minister and a Pastoral Assistant are in place, and there is the possibility of administrative support. The modern four-bedroomed Rectory is located in Horringer, which has a primary school, community centre, two pubs and adjoins the National Trust Ickworth Estate.
