Summer Messy Church Mornings | Upper Alde Benefice

Summer Messy Church Mornings | Upper Alde Benefice

Two Messy Church mornings were held in summer 2025, one in Dennington, one in Badingham. Prior to this there had been no children’s ministry for several years.

The theme was All Creatures Great and Small. The grant allowed tables, a tuff tray and stand, play tray, equipment for sensory play and small world play to be bought. A total of 11 children attended the first week and 18 children in the following week, adults stayed and there were good conversations had all around.

The Messy Church mornings enabled communication with families in the village and built up opportunities to engage with families with children at the local CofE Primary School. At Christmas, the benefice gave a goodie bag to all 72 children at the end of term service.

Since the Summer, the benefice had also put on an Autumn Messy Church Morning to which a total of 18 children attended.

The benefice also hopes to put on an Easter Messy Church morning following the success of the Summer and Autumn Messy Church mornings.
