Harvest Messy Church and Advent Messy Church | Thingoe Deanery

A total of 15 children attended Harvest Messy Church with their parents/carers. The first hour had six different craft stations for people to visit, including bread dough craft, sowing cress seeds on tissue paper to take home and watch grow, potato printing and leaf printing and apple eating. Afterwards, a talk about God took place, then everyone went to a neighbouring hall to eat together.

Advent Messy Church

There were 17 children all together at Advent Messy Church with their parents/carers. The first hour had six different craft stations for people to visit, including: decorating muffin cakes, pompom snowmen, spin painting of Christmas bauble shapes, paper angels and paper chains.

There was then a talk explaining Advent. The talk included 2 minutes of silence, showing how it is sometimes hard to wait. People were encouraged to share some of the things they had made before we all went to a neighbouring hall for some food together.

A total of six children from four families came along who do not normally attend church. Most of these were friends of children who have started to come to St Peter’s recently who they had invited to attend with them.

The church plans to have more Messy Church events, with one planned for Good Friday and one hoped to take place in the summer.
