Inspiring Ipswich Prayer

We’ve been praying this prayer every weekday for over five years.

Pray with us - Inspiring Ipswich Prayer

God of Mission,

who alone brings growth to your Church

Send your Holy Spirit to give joy in our worship,

vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions

and power to our witness.

Help your Church here in Ipswich to grow leaders,

to grow younger, to grow in numbers,

in spiritual commitment to you

and in service to our local community,

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

If you’d like a copy on a postcard or for your wallet do let us know and we’ll gladly send you one.

Daily Prayers on Zoom

The Inspiring Ipswich team meet for prayers on Zoom every morning from 9.00am -9.25am and every weekday we close by saying together the Inspiring Ipswich prayer.

On Tuesdays we invite members of the deanery chapter to join us as we pray for our churches, including the growing number of new worshipping communities, and for activities coming up and for the town. If you’d like to join us please email Helen Smith.

Prayer Facilitator

Helen Smith is also the Inspiring Ipswich Prayer Facilitator (as well as our administrator) who ensures that prayer remains at the heart of all we do. Helen co-ordinates our prayer diary and provides resources to help the deanery pray. If you would like to know more, please email Helen Smith.

Deanery Prayer Diary

Our prayer diary gives you something to pray for every day of the calendar month.

To view our prayer diary please visit Insight: Inspiring Ipswich Prayer Diary 2024.

Deanery Prayer Space

With thanks to a generous donation from the Elizabeth Walter Charity, the INSPIRE Prayer Space is available for use throughout the Ipswich Deanery and contains all the physical resources needed to run a prayer space event in your church, school or a local community space. If you’d like to borrow this please email Helen Smith.

Deanery Prayer and Retreat days

As a deanery we celebrate any growth we see comes, not from our own effort, but from our gracious God. Therefore we set aside regular opportunities to listen to God, intercede for projects around the deanery, share collective prayer needs and / or words from God.

For a list of quiet mornings and prayer mornings please email Helen Smith. or The Revd Canon Charlotte Cook.

Ipswich in Prayer

Ipswich in Prayer is a town-wide ecumenical initiative to equip the church and mobilise God’s people to pray and connect people across the town.

Ipswich In Prayer | weblink

One of the recent initiatives launched by Ipswich in Prayer is the 24/7 Prayer Room which has been running since 14 February 2024. It will run until at least the end of 2024. This is a place for Christians in Ipswich to intercede for the town, read prophecies that have been given over many years and record encouragements from God as we pray.

Lectio 365

During our personal and corporate prayer time we often use Lectio 365, a free daily devotional app that helps its users to pray every day.  you can find the App on Apple/Play store or visit Kectui 365 here.

To get in touch with our prayer team please email in the first instance Helen Smith, our Administrator and Prayer Facilitator
