- A person of deep faith and spirituality.
- A person with a heart for rural ministry.
- A person who relates well to people across the age range, especially children and young people and who is committed to pastoral care.
- A person who is happy and willing to be involved in the life of our communities, helping the church become more accessible, encouraging growth.
- A good communicator who can delegate and who will value developing and supporting a team.
- A person who will maintain the life of the benefice while respecting the diversity of the individual parishes.

- Warm and amicable congregations who are excited to welcome their new rector in a spirit of friendship.
- A team of lay readers willing to assist with services and other duties across the benefice.
- People trained in pastoral visiting and home communion.
