Forums 2023-2024

Headteachers' Forum

The Forum is held termly and aims to provide an opportunity for Heads to meet to discuss issues and challenges in schools.  This term's Forum was held on Wednesday 24 January 2024.  The date for the summer term is Tuesday 30 April 2024 at 1.30pm via Zoom.

Chairs of Governors Forum

The Forum is held termly and aims to provide an opportunity for Chairs to meet to discuss issues and challenges in schools. This term's Forum was held on Tuesday 21 November. Dates for the spring and summer terms 2024:

Admissions Forum

This forum is usually held in the autumn and spring terms and provides an opportunity for those involved with school admissions to meet to discuss issues and be kept updated.  Nex Forum will be autumn 2024, date to follow.

Small Schools Forum

This Forum is aimed at Heads, Chairs and Governors in small schools and meets termly.  This term's Forum was held on Monday 12 February. The next Forum will be on Monday 24 June 2024 at 4.00pm via Zoom.

Events 2023-2024

Annual Church School Leaders' Conference

A highlight of our year is our annual church school leaders’ conference for Headteachers, Deputies, Chairs and Governors. The date for the next Conference is Wednesday 6 November 2024.  More details to follow. 

This year's conference took place on Wednesday 1 November 2023 at the Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds with 46 Headteachers, senior leaders and governors attending. Our keynote speaker was Dr Margaret James, who gave an overview of  SIAMS inspections and the new framework. Gemma Taylor gave an insight into the context and theology of a rooted christian vision and the Headteacher at Barnham CEVCP spoke about a curriculum full of vision.  In the afternoon, Professor Jim Walters, London School of Economics spoke about leading church schools in times of cultural conflict, Elizabeth Olulari, Church of England talked about developing an approach to racial justice and Alex Green, Ashden led our final session on Understanding the crisis, responsibility and opportunity of climate action in your schools.

Diocesan Service of Celebration for Church Schools 

This will be held on Monday 17 June 2024 at 1.30pm at the Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds.  More details to follow.
