Brampton Church of England Primary School has been praised for its aspiration and inclusion, and for developing confidence and independence in pupils. The school, part of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocesan MAT, received a glowing review in its latest Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.
All church schools are subject to the SIAMS process - SIAMS considers the distinctiveness, effectiveness and sustainability of the Christian ethos of church schools through the impact of the school’s chosen Christian vision.
It noted the school has created the ideal environment for pupils to flourish thanks to the teaching and care it provides.
The report reads: “School leaders prioritise good mental health and wellbeing for pupils, staff and families. This enables all to experience emotional, academic and spiritual growth.”
Brampton CofE Primary School’s vision is based on the parable of the mustard seed, where each individual grows as part of the school’s community.
It continues: “The school has developed a strong Christian vision based on the parable of the mustard seed. This can be seen in the way staff, pupils and the trust work together.
“The vision drives the breadth of the curriculum offer, including religious education. It is tailored to meet the needs of all.”
Inspectors also praised the school for its inclusivity, providing all pupils with a space to be ambitious, and for living up to its foundation as a church school.
Vicky Allen, Executive Headteacher, said: “I am delighted inspectors recognised the wonderful environment we have created at the school. We ensure all our pupils’ individual needs are met, therefore giving them the opportunities to grow within themselves and their education. At Brampton, we aim to nurture our school family and empower us to develop and grow our God- given talents and reach our full potential.”
Jane Sheat, CEO said: “Congratulations to Brampton for the nurture and care which it provides. This recent inspection report is a fitting tribute to the work of the school in enabling pupils to flourish and grow.”
SIAMS inspections previously awarded schools one of four grades but under a new framework introduced in September 2023, school’s visions are instead categorised as ‘living up to’ or ‘not fully’ living up to the Christian foundation.
