Bishop Joanne stands against anti-Muslim hatred

Following the arrest of 12 people with the possible threat to the UK Ijtima event at Shrubland Hall, in Barham.

The Rt Rev Dr Joanne Woolway Grenfell, Bishop of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocese and a House of Lords member, said: “I encourage us all to stand against anti-Muslim violence and anti-Muslim hatred, and indeed any actions or words that create fear and prevent the peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths across Suffolk.

“Today, I stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters and reassure them of my care and support.”
