Diocesan Synod took place on Saturday 20 June at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, with around 100 people in attendance. The day, led by Bishop Joanne, focused on the theme 'Together We Are Listening'. Synod members were invited into a time of prayer for this process, led by Archdeacon Sam, followed by a five-minute period of quiet reflection. This marked an important step in our shared journey of discernment as we listen to God and one another.
We also heard from Jane Sheat, Diocesan Director of Education, who presented her final annual report to the Diocesan Board of Education ahead of her retirement. In addition, there were presentations on Envoy, financial statements, wellbeing and safeguarding.
